Tired of having to multi-flush their government-regulated low-flow toilets, the
Low-Flow Toilet Awareness Project (LFTAP) was started in April 2008, by a group
of innocent Americans.
Under the Energy Policy and Conservation Act of 1992, Congress outlawed old
logical-flow toilets, banning the 3.5 gallon flushers and commanding national
use of 1.6 gallon flushers.
Over 15 years later, day by day, flush by flush, the ludicrous law affects millions of Americans, including
Dave Barry, the world's most outspoken opponent of low-flow toilets.
In the spirit of true water conservation -- and to preserve our wrists from
carpal tunnel syndrome -- LFTP is here to revive the toilet issue.
Eager to return to the days of one-flushing rather than wasteful (and time
intensive, not to mention frequently embarrassing) multi-flushing, LFTAP supports the:
- repeal of Energy Policy and Conservation Act of 1992;
- re-legalization of installing 3.5 gallon toilets; as well as the
- de-criminalization of "smuggling" reasonable 3.5 gallon toilets into the US,
from logical-flow toilet flush countries, such as Canada.
